Staring of the year 2010 many of film makers wished this year may have good movies. Jan,Feb,Mar released movies had not much attracted the people only one movie collected handsome amount while other dropped at box office......
The New Year started off with somewhat lesser known movies like ‘Maa Naana Chiranjeevi’ ‘Om Shanti’ ‘Seetaramula Kalyanam’ which turned out to be duds at the box office. It was the arrival of ‘Adhurs’ that changed the tables as box office got cheered up. This was backed up by a decent performance from ‘Namo Venkatesa’ giving the family audience the required entertainment. Another surprise winner was ‘Sambho Siva Sambho’ which was intense and hard hitting.
February saw the arrival of the color ‘Mayabazaar’ which did good business and even the less expected ‘Bindaas’ was declared an above average film.
The biggest disappointment was Nagarjuna with his ‘Kedi’ followed by ‘Inkosari’ from Raja, ‘Kalavar King’ from Nikhil. This was compensated with the super duper hit ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ introducing the latest sensation Samantha.
March was quite dull with not many releases happening and hero Sivaji came up with his ‘Taj Mahal’ which hit the dust in no time. There was also the long pending ‘Akasa Ramanna’ which came and went without notice, the month had its biggest disappointment in the form of ‘Maro Charitra’ by Dil Raju which was a major flop and this was overtaken by another colossal disaster ‘Varudu’ which was meant to be the best opener for the summer releases.
So far, it has been a mixed report on the box office side but for the fact that big stars scored successes. However, many say that this is a better performance compared to last year. This month and May would be quite crucial as there are some real big movies in the pipeline and the Tollywood folks are hoping that they would make up for the losses by the end of first half. Let us wait and see..
