Nandamuri Balakrishna’s new movie ‘Sri Ramarajyam’, to be directed by Bapu was launched today at Ramakrishna Cine Studios, Hyderabad. For the muhurat shot on title logo, Balakrishna tapped the clap board and Ramesh Prasad switched on the camera. This movie is going to be produced by Yalamanchi Saibabu under Sri Sai Baba Movies banner. In this film Akkineni Nageswara Rao will play the role of Valmiki while Srikanth will play Lakshmana and Nayantara will play Sita. The story of the film is written by Mullapudi Venkata Ramana.
The launching function was also attended by Nandamuri Ramakrishna, Srikanth, Ramesh Prasad, Mullapudi Venkata Ramana, etc.
Veteran director Bapu has begun shooting his latest mythology - Sri Ramarajyam . Balakrishna plays the Lord Sri Rama in the film and Bapu has also roped in legendary actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao to do the role of Valmiki. The movie’s pooja ceremony was held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Ramakrishna Studios in Nacharam in Hyderabad.

Prabhas is fondly called as ‘Young Rebel Star’ by fans as Pedananna Krishnam Raju was known as ‘Rebel Star’ in 80’s. So true to his image, the young rebel star is all set to do an out and out angry young man character in new film. And ‘Rebel’ is the title is being considered for it. Director Lawrence has confirmed this development. He is directing the movie. Earlier 'Power' was considered for it, but 'Rebel' as the title gives more value if it stars Prabhas. The flick had its muhurat at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. Made on Max India Productions banner, the film is directed by K. Vijaybhaskar (of Manmathudu and Mallishwari fame) while producer is K. Atchi Reddy. Akkineni Nageswara Rao, K. Viswanath, Dr. D. Ramanaidu, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Harikrishna, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna, Chiranjeevi, Srihari, Murali Mohan, Jayasudha, SV Krishna Reddy, Ramesh Prasad, Prakash Raj, PJ Sarma, Saikumar and others took part in the event.ANR lighted the lamp and rendered the puja ceremony while D. Ramanaidu unveiled the production banner and Srihari unfurled the title of the film. Balakrishna switched on the camera, while Chiranjeevi clapped the muhurt shot. Nagarjuna did the formal first shot direction.
