1940 lo Oka Gramam, a Telugu film which won a National Award for Best regional film (Telugu), is going to release later this month. Directed by Narasimha Nandi, the film narrates the story of a village in the pre-independence era and the movie fiddles with the theme of Caste and Rich-Poor divide. The film also won 4 Nandi Awards. Sadly, no distributor had come forward to buy the film or to screen it, for the past 2 years. One of the leading producers in Telugu film industry, Bellamkonda Suresh, had come forward to release the film on his ‘Sri Lakshmi Narasimha’ banner. Bala Aditya and Sri Ramya played the lead roles in this film. Earlier, the film was supposed to hit the screens on April 9th. However, the latest news is that the film is going to release on April 16 .
